File Server Backup
Our File Server packages provide online backup software for small file servers and network shares. We provide online server backup to protect business data residing on file servers or across the network - the backup software runs automatically every day with no intervention required from you. You have complete access to all files 24 hours a day - to restore them after a corruption, to retrieve them when travelling. It's Secure, Simple and Affordable.
Who is the basic backup for?
The Basic Server option is ideal for when your business stores data on network shares or file servers so multiple users can access them. It suits a typical office environment and is ideal for protecting key office documents as well as mailing lists, databases, invoices, drawings, designs and other common business records.
Our Basic Server backup software is not intended for application servers or business critical workstations. Rather it is designed for online data backup of network file servers or data on Windows, Novell and Linux "network shares". Unlike our PC packages, our File Server solutions are monitored, resulting in alerts in the case of any missed backups.
What does File Server offer?
File Server Backup software allows you to:
- Backup and restore shared network data files as often as needed
- Sleep at night because your common business data is secure and available 24x7
- Know that your backups are monitored and that notifications will alert you of missed backups
- No worries because your data is fully encrypted at all times
- Retrieve your files when travelling using a browser and MyRoamTM
How does Basic Server work?
Online server backup works using a software agent installed on a computer connected to your network or on the file server directly. After a simple initial configuration (defining what and when to backup) an initial baseline backup is made to our secure off-site data centres. Thereafter, the software automatically detects any changes to files and addition of new files and sends the relevant updates to the data centre.
In most cases, that is all that is needed. However, in case of need (lost files, crashed hard disk, fire, flood) you can simply tell the software which files you need and they are downloaded to you instantly.
